How does Air-Flow work?

The treatment works by using a mixture of compressed air, water and very fine bicarbonate powder particles to clean all the surfaces of your teeth. It is able to clean the hard to reach spaces where toothbrushing and a traditional scale & polish struggles. Therefore, it is much more efficient at plaque removal, helping to prevent decay and gum disease.

Who is suitable for Air-Flow?

Air-Flow is ideal for general smile maintenance and suitable for almost all patients.

It is especially suited for patients who have heavily stained teeth from smoking, coffee or red wine; and for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment who may be finding it difficult to maintain good oral hygiene due to the presence of brackets & wires.

Due to its non-abrasive qualities and the fact that it fails to generate heat, pressure or vibrations, it is also suitable for helping to clean and maintain dental implants.

If carried out in combination with teeth whitening, air-flow has been shown to give excellent results and may improve the efficacy of peroxide whitening gels on the surface of the teeth.
